» Cache for internet radio streams not working?
Hi When playing an internet stream, i.e. "mms://stream0.orf.at/fm4_live" everything works great, but to start the stream it takes ages! Now i tried to configure the cache size to 256k but this doesn't do a thing. I already tried to disable every cache, but no success. It takes at least 60 seconds to start the stream. It's just "buffering..." for a long time before starting the stream. P.S: Thanks for this great port. I already loved XBMC on the Xbox but now this is even better on linux!we cannot determine if the stream is audio or video so cache type unknown is used. i assume. if you gave us a log we would know.Sorry. Hi all, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as how to go about achieving what i would like to do. I have searched on the forums but can't seem to find a solution to my problem. » Running mysql imports - how to be nicer to servers?
I was contacted by my host that running mysql imports is too resource intensive on the shared server during "high usage hours". Our db is only 350 megs and I had no idea it was a big issue, but I do want to help him out. Is there a way to run a mysql import in "nice" mode or in some way that doesn't drain his resources so much? I'm not always able to work on my server during times that I assume would not be prime hours and I don't want to end up getting kicked off. scanned movies in library mode with fine, but when i scan for TV shows it only works on 1 show. All the other shows it just says there is 0 episodes for each one. If you look at this screenshot you will see it says "0 Episodes (0 UnWatched)". It says this for all my series except for one that actually scanned perfectly fine. I know this is a really odd request but is it possible for someone to code a simple viewer to view the forum.txt backup in it's html lookalike form? I would probably need to prune the messages often so a separate site with a viewer for old files would be perfect for my needs.. I shoot with a canon digital rebel xt. I mostly photograph skateboarding/bmx, and those guys generally want to do it at night, since they have less of a chance of getting in trouble. Now, the thing is, the dinky little flash on my camera just doesn't cut it. Could someone give me some pointers on flashes/lighting, as well as recommend a flash? Ok. I have the whole WB thing figured out with my camera (mainly just calibrate each time I go shooting for the light). My question comes from when doing landscapes with a good amount of cloud cover. (or any scene with mixed light) Should I set the white balance off of the sunlight areas? Like in a landscape with spotty 50% cloud cover. About half the scene is being hit by direct light while the other half shaded. Do I still go off direct light WB?Set it to 5000K and you should be OK.I think experiment is a good answer. I've been trying to set the DVD drive on my mac mini as a source so that every time I insert a DVD I don't have to remount a new source. Ok so my main profile on my computer doesnt work, but for some reason a guest profile works so i have been on that for a while but when i pluged in my computer a couple days ago it wouldnt let me upload my pictures. I tried in install picture project 1.7 that came with my D80 but i wouldnt let me intall it because i wasnt on the adminasters profile. Greetings! I had a small "bug" that was detected when a user attempted to put someone on his/her ignore list. User A wanted to Ignore user B. vB returned an error message saying "you cannot ignore user C." User C is a moderator. User B and C do not have similar userid are usernames. It was discovered that user A had put user C on his/her ignore list before user C was made a moderator. Removeing user C from the ignore list fixed the "bug." Does vB not check the ignore lists when someone is promoted to moderator? If not, maybe a Scheduled Task to admin function to check for this? Hi everyone, My aunt and I are looking into buying some lenses for our cameras. We both have digital cameras, mine a Kodak Z740 with a 55mm lens adapter, hers a Fujifilm S3800, which they don't make anymore but is very similar to the S3100 model found on their website. » Cache for internet radio streams not working?
Hi When playing an internet stream, i.e. "mms://stream0.orf.at/fm4_live" everything works great, but to start the stream it takes ages! Now i tried to configure the cache size to 256k but this doesn't do a thing. I already tried to disable every cache, but no success. It takes at least 60 seconds to start the stream. It's just "buffering..." for a long time before starting the stream. P.S: Thanks for this great port. I was contacted by my host that running mysql imports is too resource intensive on the shared server during "high usage hours". Our db is only 350 megs and I had no idea it was a big issue, but I do want to help him out. Is there a way to run a mysql import in "nice" mode or in some way that doesn't drain his resources so much? I'm not always able to work on my server during times that I assume would not be prime hours and I don't want to end up getting kicked off. scanned movies in library mode with fine, but when i scan for TV shows it only works on 1 show. All the other shows it just says there is 0 episodes for each one. If you look at this screenshot you will see it says "0 Episodes (0 UnWatched)". It says this for all my series except for one that actually scanned perfectly fine. I shoot with a canon digital rebel xt. I mostly photograph skateboarding/bmx, and those guys generally want to do it at night, since they have less of a chance of getting in trouble. Now, the thing is, the dinky little flash on my camera just doesn't cut it. Could someone give me some pointers on flashes/lighting, as well as recommend a flash? I don't want a Q flash or anything, but I don't want garbage either. Ok. I have the whole WB thing figured out with my camera (mainly just calibrate each time I go shooting for the light). My question comes from when doing landscapes with a good amount of cloud cover. (or any scene with mixed light) Should I set the white balance off of the sunlight areas? Like in a landscape with spotty 50% cloud cover. About half the scene is being hit by direct light while the other half shaded. Do I still go off direct light WB?Set it to 5000K and you should be OK.I think experiment is a good answer. I've been trying to set the DVD drive on my mac mini as a source so that every time I insert a DVD I don't have to remount a new source. I've tried and tried to make the DVD drive a source, but XBMC won't let me. Greetings! I had a small "bug" that was detected when a user attempted to put someone on his/her ignore list. User A wanted to Ignore user B. vB returned an error message saying "you cannot ignore user C." User C is a moderator. User B and C do not have similar userid are usernames. It was discovered that user A had put user C on his/her ignore list before user C was made a moderator. Removeing user C from the ignore list fixed the "bug." Does vB not check the ignore lists when someone is promoted to moderator? If not, maybe a Scheduled Task to admin function to check for this? Hi everyone, My aunt and I are looking into buying some lenses for our cameras. We both have digital cameras, mine a Kodak Z740 with a 55mm lens adapter, hers a Fujifilm S3800, which they don't make anymore but is very similar to the S3100 model found on their website.
